What is the Community Quilt project?
The community quilt is my new project for 2024! The plan is, at the end of the year, we will have a quilt, that has been brought together by the community.

How can I participate, and does it cost money?

It is completely free! You will be able to redeem points, through the Youtube livestreams, and select your quilt square.

How do I earn points?

You earn points through chatting in the livestreams. The way that Youtube is set up, it only registers the points if you’re chatting (this isn’t something I can change, and is a limitation of Youtube). Every 10 min, you’ll earn 30 points.

This isn’t meant to be a project that can be finished in a short time. It will run throughout the entire year, so you have plenty of time to earn points, if you want to join in.
I also plan to do the occasional giveaways for points, that can help to bump up the amount of points you have.
I want everyone to have an equal chance to participate, so point amounts are not increased by donations or memberships. This is just meant to be something fun for the community, that costs nothing.

Are there any rules or guidelines?

You must redeem your quilt square, before you redeem any add-ons.
There is a limit of 8 add-ons, so that I will still be able to sew all the squares together at the end of the year.
- No duplicates of beads, charms, & buttons (Want to make sure there’s enough for everyone!)
After redemption’s are made, I have 1-2 weeks to complete your add-on.
- Depending on how many items from viewers are redeemed at a time, I may adjust the turn around time. As this is the first year doing this, I may need to make slight adjustments as we go. Whether it’s time, or point redemption amounts.
You may redeem a second square, as long as you’ve redeemed all possible add-ons first.
With 120 squares, there should be plenty for everyone. If for some reason all 120 get
redeemed, we’ll add more and make a bigger quilt. :)
- However, there has been a request to be able to redeem a square as a gift. As long as the additional square is redeemed for someone else, and not a second for the redeemer (before all add-ons).

What will happen to the quilt once it’s finished, and will we get to see our squares?

At the end of the year, I’ll put together the quilt. It’s finished size should be something around 5ft x 4ft, which will total to 120 squares, so there’s plenty for all.
The finished quilt will be displayed in my office, for all to see.
- There will always be a set aside time during the livestreams to view new squares, and updates.
- Depending on how many squares there are, I hope have each of the squares displayed on the wall behind me, and will be viewable during the times that I do a face cam.
- There will also be image updates on my various social medias.

Will I be able to choose my colors and add-ons?

You will be able to choose which buttons, beads and charms you would like to add. However, I have a set color palette with material already purchased. So, thread and material colors will be at my discretion.
There may also be added charms, buttons, or beads, through out the year, if I find new ones I like, or if we run out of any.

What are the redemptions, and how do I redeem them?

After the initial quilt square redemption, you will be able to choose what name you want stitched on your square.
